It’s almost that time of year again! Here’s an image of one of the greatest baseball pitchers of all time, taken at a game at Wrigley Field in 2005.

MAKEUP!!!
One of my favorite things to shoot is creative makeup, so when Yildiz Toy asked me if I would shoot some images of some makeup ideas that she had I immediately said yes. It didn’t hurt that she wanted to play with Courtney Hope Turner’s (Miss Teen United States) face either. We got some amazing [...]

Emily
Occasionally I get something right. Last summer I was assisting another photographer on a photoshoot when I met Emily. She caught my eye as a classic beauty, with a girl next door appeal. I took her contact information, hoping to some day get the opportunity to get her in front of my camera and prove [...]

Miss Teen United States 2009 | Courtney Hope Turner
To those of you that know me, this is exactly what you would expect when I shoot a crown shot. Yes, I love the traditional formal gown shots, but to me there’s something about a Miss Teen winner that screams jeans and a casual top. Anyway, here [...]

Guess who I’m working with again today! Yes, I know, I am fortunate. Here’s a picture of Alessia Andrade from one of our many 2009 photoshoots.

Smile!
If you follow my blog by now you know that I love smily pictures. To me, it’s often the out-takes from a serious shoot which are the most memorable. Here are a few more examples, taken at a recent shoot with models Lilu Jael and Justin Barringer. I hope they bring a smile to your [...]

With all the snow we’ve gotten I thought it appropriate to make an image from Saturday’s snowfall the picture of the day. Enjoy!

Today’s image is of an interesting stairway that was in a bed and breakfast that my wife and I stayed at last summer on a trip to Virginia. The image was taken using exposure bracketing. Three consecutive frames were taken and the images combined in Photomatix. Some of the detail in the plaster and the [...]

But it’s just a door!
Sometimes the details are more interesting than the scene as a whole. The image I selected for today was taken as I walked the streets of Charleston, SC. The town is rich with history and architecture. This door caught my eye and I had to take the picture.

We called it the 20th anniversary tour. In 2007 my wife and I celebrated 20 years of marriage with a trip to Utah and Nevada. One of the places we visited was Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. Today’s image is of Turret Arch, in silhouette at sunset. I particularly like this image because the [...]

Winter wonderland
Here is a winter scene from LaCrosse Wisconsin. The image was taken a couple years ago on a visit back to the old stomping grounds. I’ve always enjoyed taking pictures of old barns and this one caught my eye. I brought new life to the image with some top secret photoshop techniques (hehe). Anyways, [...]

There’s nothing like a picture of a couple cute children to bring a smile to your face. Vivian and Skyler have come to the studio two years in a row for a Christmas photo session. I hope they keep coming for many years!

Picture of the Day
Today’s image is from one of the most fun shoots I’ve done in a long time. I still laugh when I look at the images from the shoot. I chose Alessia Andrade and Mike Press as models for a fashion spread for the holiday gift guide for Elevate Magazine. A version of [...]

Thug Fairies
In a episode of South Park, gangs of gnomes steal underpants from Tweek’s dresser at 3 am. They were known as ‘Underpants Gnomes’ and had a business model:
Phase 1: Collect Underpants
Phase 2: ?
Phase 3: Profit
Fairies are rumored to steal left socks. Do they have a plan? A business model? Are they in competition with [...]
