Today’s image is from a weekend getaway that my wife and I took last summer. It had been quite a while since we had been away from Charlotte and we decided to head to Virginia and the Blue Ridge Parkway. After doing some online research we decided to stay at Inn at Riverbend Bed and Breakfast in Pearisburg, VA near Blacksburg. After a long day of hiking, we arrived at the Inn, unpacked, and set out to find something to eat. That night we settled on a pizza and a couple bottles of wine which we enjoyed on a deck overlooking spectacular scenery over the New River Valley.

The next morning presented  a spectacular photographic opportunity. The humidity was high and fog had totally obscured the valley. As the sun rose further into the sky the fog gradually burned off. Eventually the sun cleared the surrounding trees and I was able to capture the image below. The image is actually a blend of 3 different exposures (HDR). I hope that you enjoy the view. Comments, as always, are welcome.
