When the editor of Elevate Lifestyle Magazine presented me with a list of concepts for the annual Holiday Gift Guide I didn’t hesitate to take on the handyman tools idea. Tools and cameras have been a major part of my life since I was a teenager so this was natural for me. Emily was the featured model. Her sidekick was played by Luke Lawson. Angela Rabon was on set to do makep and hair for the shoot.
All the tools seen in the spread were supplied by Lowes. After the shoot they asked that all the tools be donated to charity. Lowes gets my vote for the best home improvement store around for making such a nice gesture.
This was probably the most fun shoot I’ve done to date. Emily pretty much got to just be herself and with the exception of the reciprocating saw, she looked pretty natural handling the tools. So, if anyone from Porter Cable, Paslode, Dewalt, or Kobalt is reading this, you may want to consider Emily as a spokesmodel… I’ve already had several people comment that she would be perfect! Luke’s role was to look completely inept. He pulled it off pretty well. Emily and Luke have been friends for a long time and Emily said it was pretty natural for her to look at Luke the way she did in the images.
